Move beyond fixed postures and repeated cues. Learn to understand yoga from the inside through breath, internal control, natural movement, and embodied awareness.
Move beyond posture-based yoga. Understand movement, breath, posture, and physiology as one system, so you can practise with less strain and teach from embodied understanding.
Join NowThis live 200-hour teacher training is the culmination of Simon Borg-Olivier’s lifetime of embodied experience, teaching, research, and practice.
Drawing on wisdom from India, China, Tibet, Japan, and beyond, the training goes far beyond learning postures. It is about understanding yoga as an intelligent, healing movement system.
Yoga asana, bandha, kriya, and mudra are demystified through clear explanation, direct practice, and an understanding of how they work in the body.
Rather than treating yoga as fixed shapes, isolated techniques, or abstract concepts, the practice becomes one integrated system for internal control, functional movement, and embodied understanding.
In this welcome video, Simon shares what this training is all about.
This is not a training about memorising sequences or performing shapes. It is a deep study of how movement, breath, posture, and physiology can work together to create a practice that is intelligent and sustainable.
Move beyond fixed postures and repeated cues. Learn to understand yoga from the inside through breath, internal control, natural movement, and embodied awareness.
Learn from Simon’s decades of experience as a physiotherapist, molecular biologist, yoga educator, and lifelong practitioner of yoga, qigong, internal martial arts, and movement.
One month gives you time to practise, question, refine, rest, and absorb. This is where the understanding of method becomes embodied.
Developed over 40 years by physiotherapists Simon Borg-Olivier and Bianca Machliss, the Yoga Synergy method blends Western medical science with traditional yoga wisdom.
Simon studied personally with Sri B.K.S. Iyengar, Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, and Sri T.V.K. Desikachar. The result is a safe, dynamic, meditative flow that thousands of students and teachers have benefited from worldwide.
5-Dimensional Flow explores the common origin of natural movement, from yoga to qigong, martial arts, dance, and therapeutic exercise.
The method centres on movement, breath, and awareness arising from the lower abdominal region, helping students rediscover natural fluidity, internal connection, and ease of movement.
5D Synergy Flow is the integration of Yoga Synergy and 5-Dimensional Flow into one complete practice and teaching method. It combines the structure, intelligence, and therapeutic precision of Yoga Synergy with the whole-body integration of 5-Dimensional Flow.
The result is a system that goes far beyond posture-based yoga. It trains practitioners to understand movement, breath, core support, anatomy, meditative awareness, and teaching principles as parts of one interconnected method.
A glimpse into the training atmosphere.
This training is designed for dedicated yoga practitioners, aspiring and experienced teachers, and movement professionals who are ready for one full month of deep learning, embodied practice, and inner transformation, not simply collecting techniques, copying sequences, or performing more advanced shapes.
This is for students who want yoga to be more than shapes, flexibility, strength, or external alignment. The focus is on understanding yoga as an integrated practice of movement, breath, physiology, awareness, and internal experience.
Simon’s trainings are not designed as a fast track to certification. They are intended for dedicated students who want sustained practice, detailed explanation, direct experience, and time for questions and refinement.
This is for people who think in systems, not separate techniques. Simon’s work connects traditional yoga, qigong, breath science, anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and meditative practice into one coherent framework.
This training is for people who want time away from ordinary life to enter the rhythm of deep study, practice, and transformation. This is not a casual retreat. It is an intensive month-long deep dive.
Whether already teaching or preparing to teach, this training is for people who want to teach from principles rather than scripts, and adapt posture, movement, breath, and instruction for different bodies and needs.
This training is for people who want yoga to support daily life, not just performance on the mat. The practice is designed to help you move, breathe, and function with clarity, ease, resilience, and vitality.

Students already familiar with Simon’s teaching methodology may complete them no later than one month after the training.

Teach from principles rather than scripts, with embodied understanding.
These reflections come from students, teachers, therapists, and long-term practitioners who have studied with Simon.
The training was an incredibly rich experience. Even though I’m a yoga teacher and a physiotherapist, I gained so much. The postures are presented clearly and safely, with a strong focus on alignment, injury prevention, and meaningful use of bandhas.
It feels like all my yoga studies before were fumbling around in postures whose essence I didn’t understand. Simon encourages discernment and real sensitivity, not forcing limits. Challenging — but still safely guided.
After years of Ashtanga I ended up with a bulging disc and chronic low back pain. Simon’s teaching gave me an epiphany: more sense, more discernment, and practical ways to practice and teach safely and effectively.
I started teaching only a few years ago, but this work made me realize how little I knew about real teaching methodology. The insight into each posture is extremely practical — and it changes how you cue.
Having completed advanced anatomy study before, this training consolidated my understanding of bandhas by showing their application in each posture. I now feel more confident teaching bandhas comprehensively.
Doing yoga without understanding your body is a sure way to get injured. This material gives you the information you need for safe, effective practice — and Simon delivers it with clarity, enthusiasm, and real teaching skill.
I’m blown away by the information. Thank you for helping me understand my body better and become a better yoga teacher!
I got so much out of this. The explanations are consistent and logical throughout, and as you progress you find deeper understanding in each posture. There was always an emphasis on practicing safely.
I loved it. I gained so much knowledge about working with injuries, plus practical tips for alignment, breathing, and movement. Simon is a natural-born teacher who can explain anything in an accessible way.
I've been practising Ashtanga for many years, but what Simon shared revolutionised my practice. Now I can practice with so much more ease — and after practice, I feel energised rather than drained.
This training goes far beyond learning postures. You’ll study a complete system of posture, movement, breathing, internal control, applied anatomy, and meditative awareness — designed to support health, happiness, and longevity.
Simon will guide you through practical methods for moving from the true core, entering the natural flow state, improving flexibility without force, building strength without strain, breathing more efficiently, and adapting traditional postures intelligently.
Learn to initiate movement from the lower abdominal centre — known in different traditions as the Dantien, Kanda, or the region of the enteric nervous system — so movement becomes more connected, stable, fluid, and internally alive.
Experience the state where movement, breathing, and mind begin to work together as one integrated system — creating a practice that feels fluid, calm, energising, and meditative.
Explore how to increase range of movement through intelligent joint action, spinal movement, breath, relaxation, and nervous-system regulation rather than forcing your body into shapes.
Learn how to develop strength while reducing strain, gripping, compression, and excessive effort — so the body becomes stronger without becoming harder or more restricted.
Study breathing as both traditional practice and modern physiology. You’ll explore breath volume, carbon dioxide, pressure, circulation, bandha, energy, and nervous-system regulation in a practical and embodied way.
Bring together anatomy, biomechanics, physiology, breath, bandha, mudrā, circulation, and yogic understanding into a practice that supports health, happiness, and longevity.
Explore traditional internal practices in a practical, embodied, and physiological way — as tools for energy, circulation, pressure regulation, awareness, and meditative absorption.
Explore how traditional yoga postures can be adapted into safer, more accessible, and more effective movements for different bodies, while preserving their energetic, meditative, and transformative essence.
Develop teaching clarity through posture analysis, movement principles, observation, adaptation, and direct experience — so you can teach what is useful, not simply repeat memorised instructions.
Each training day is designed to balance deep practice, embodied learning, rest, and integration. Exact times may be refined due to the needs of the group.
5D Flow, seated and moving meditation, breath, internal movement, and embodied practice.
Time to eat, rest, study, integrate, and enjoy the surroundings.
Yoga Synergy, postural work, anatomy, methodology, and applied learning.
Optional activities such as kirtan, sound bath, sharing, and movement exploration.
Morning sessions are focused on the practice of the 5D Flow method. You’ll learn all five aspects: Mind Synergy, Joint Synergy, Spinal Synergy, Breath Synergy, and Core Synergy.
These practices are designed to awaken circulation, energy, internal awareness, and ease of movement without unnecessary tension. The sessions begin slowly and simply, then gradually build toward longer practices of up to three hours at a time toward the end of the training.
This morning practice bridges traditional teachings of yoga and qigong. You’ll explore kriya techniques, seated and moving meditation, chanting, self-massage, pranayama, and internal movement practices. Toward the end of the training, the morning sessions become less lecture-based and more focused on pure practice.
Afternoon sessions are focused on learning the Yoga Synergy method, postural work, teaching methodology, applied anatomy, physiology, therapeutic application, and practical integration.
These sessions are designed to give you a deep and clear understanding of the mechanics of asana, and to explore yoga and movement through science, physiotherapy, breath, and internal control.
You’ll learn how traditional yoga postures can become more accessible, sustainable, and effective when combined with intelligent movement patterns and a clear understanding of how the body works. The practices progress from shorter learning sessions to longer integrated practices toward the end of the training.
You'll learn how to implement the 5D Flow method into the Yoga Synergy Fundamentals sequence - This is 5D Synergy Flow.

This training is best suited for people who already have some experience with yoga, qigong, bodywork, dance, martial arts, physiotherapy, or another movement practice.
You do not need to be an advanced practitioner or yoga teacher, but this is not a beginner yoga course. The training goes deeply into movement, breath, anatomy, physiology, and teaching principles, so it is most appropriate for students who are genuinely ready for a month of focused study and practice.
If you are unsure whether the training is suitable for you, please apply and share your background. Each application is reviewed before acceptance.
Yes. This training is not about collecting more advanced postures or adding another sequence to what you already know.
It is designed to change how you understand movement, breath, posture, anatomy, physiology, and teaching. Many experienced practitioners and teachers discover that they have been using unnecessary tension, missing important internal connections, or teaching from habits they never questioned.
For experienced students, the value of this training is often in refining what you already do, seeing your blind spots, and learning a more intelligent system for practice and teaching.
Yes. Many students who join Simon’s trainings have already completed one or more teacher trainings before.
They come because this training offers a different kind of education. Rather than simply learning more sequences, postures, or teaching scripts, you will study the deeper principles behind movement, breath, posture, anatomy, physiology, internal awareness, and intelligent practice.
For many experienced teachers, this training helps fill the gaps left by previous trainings and gives them a clearer, more embodied way to understand and teach yoga.
Simon’s approach is physiotherapy-informed and designed to help students practise with more intelligence, awareness, and respect for their individual body.
That said, this is an intensive teacher training. You will be practising and studying for several hours a day, so it may not be suitable for everyone, especially if you are currently injured, recovering from a recent injury, or unsure whether your body is ready for this level of immersion.
If you have concerns, please contact us before applying at [email protected] and share a little about your situation. We can help you decide whether this training is appropriate for you.
Accommodations, meals (brunches & dinners), access to all classes, and use of facilities like the pool. Additional treatments, massages, spa use are optional extras.
