5-Dimensional Flow (5-D Flow) is a complete system of posture, movement, breathing, and mindfulness that can give you health, happiness, and a long life if you practice for at least a few minutes each day in a gentle, loving way and allow it to integrate into your daily life.
It harnesses your body's true core, a central point that governs your posture, movement, and overall wellbeing. Master the five dimensions of movement originating from your true core: lengthening, bending, side-bending, twisting, and expanding/contracting.
What does 5 Dimensional Flow refer to?
The idea of ‘flow’ in the term ‘5-Dimensional Flow’ relates to the idea that energy moves most effectively through smooth, continuous pathways that ideally never go back and forth in a jagged fashion in the same dimension. For example, moving back and forth from left to right is energetically expensive because it requires your body to brake and accelerate.
Similarly, moving back and forth from up to down is energetically costly because it also requires your body to brake and accelerate. Both movements can also be jarring on your joints, especially if you move quickly, and do not encourage blood circulation.
However, moving smoothly and fluidly from left to up to right to down, then back to left and up, and so on, will build energy by generating centripetal and centrifugal forces, encourage blood circulation, and be far less jarring on your joints even if you move quickly.
PHYSICAL (health and happiness in your muscles and joints for a pain-free, functional body that has the strength and flexibility to do the things you need and want to do in your life)
PHYSIOLOGICAL (health and happiness in terms of your energy levels, blood circulation, and nervous system, as well as your ability to process food, heal and regenerate your cells)
MENTAL (health and happiness in terms of your mind's ability to think clearly and logically with the right balance of intuition and emotional well-being, with the natural default state being happiness)
PRESENT MOMENT (i.e. your practice of 5D Flow should feel healthy and happy on physical, physiological and mental levels while you are doing your practice)
IMMEDIATE FUTURE (i.e. your practice of 5D Flow should leave you feeling healthy and happy immediately after you finish it and for the rest of your day)
SHORT-TERM FUTURE (i.e. your regular practice of 5D Flow should allow you to remain feeling healthy and happy over the next few days, weeks, months, and years)
LONG-TERM FUTURE (i.e. your regular practice of 5D Flow should allow you to still be feeling healthy and happy into your more senior years 5 - 100 years into the future)
MIND SYNERGY -
Mind synergy includes learning how to connect the thinking brain in your head with your action brain (the enteric nervous system) at your true core. This allows you to enter the flow state, or the zone of the elite athlete, akin to the actual meditative state of a Tibetan yogi able to sit calmly in the snow.
JOINT SYNERGY -
Joint synergy includes learning how to move your joints from your true core. This leads to a pain-free body with the longevity of your joints and superior strength and flexibility in your arms and legs.
SPINAL SYNERGY -
Spinal synergy includes learning how to move the trunk (the enlarged version of your core) in the 4 main ways (‘dimensions’) your spine moves. This leads to enhanced strength in your core, greater freedom in your spine, and improved health of your internal organs.
BREATH SYNERGY -
Breath synergy includes learning how to control the expansion and contraction of the volume of your trunk (the enlarged version of your core) in the 3 main ways (‘dimensions’) your lungs expand and contract during breathing (height, width, and breadth). This gives you more energy, makes you feel calmer and more at peace with yourself, and helps your digestive, reproductive, and immune systems work better.
CORE SYNERGY -
Core synergy includes learning how to move your core in 3-D space. Ideally, this can be done while the core is projecting movement and changing shape in its own five dimensions or ways.
This can lead to beginner-to-advanced practices of:
INTEGRATIVE SYNERGY -
This is the integration of mind, joint, spinal, breath, and core synergy that can fully enhance the practices of:
I was in a car accident a few years ago that shattered my right shoulder and I had to wear a neck brace for month. Recovery was slow, I still have to be careful with what I do and how I do it, especially now that I am in my fifties. ... Sadly, I cannot do too intense a yoga practice any more. I started doing his Joint Synergy Program that not only helps my aching joints but it also makes me feel stronger while improving my poor circulation. Thank you, Simon!
I have been doing Yoga Synergy for quite a few years, but Simon’s classes and workshop are always so jam-packed with valuable info that it always takes month to digest all the theory and apply it to my practice. And because Simon himself is continually evolving his practice and teachings, there’s always a lot that I still don’t understand, but this Joint Synergy program clarified so many thing for me that I feel I am doing his yoga sequences much more efficiently because of the understanding this course gave me.
I used to be a gymnast and dancer before I came to yoga. My first yoga class was with Simon in Tel Aviv, and I have never experienced a movement system like his. I have been suffering from back pain for 5 years, but his circular movements don’t just make me feel stronger without feeling stressed out, but made it much easier to do any other movement system and use the Joint Synergy principles in any type of exercise.
The Joint synergy sequences get me in the zone, I become warmed up and energised and it makes so much easier to do my high-intensity exercise regime.
