Yoga that works with your body, not against

This workshop is the culmination of a lifetime of embodied experience.

Simon has taught thousands across the globe and lived through countless health challenges himself. Drawing on the wisdom of teachers from India, China, Tibet, and beyond, this training goes far beyond learning postures—it’s about experiencing yoga as intelligent, healing movement.

About the Yoga Synergy Method

Developed over 40 years by physiotherapists Simon Borg-Olivier and Bianca Machliss, the Yoga Synergy Method blends Western medical science with traditional yoga wisdom. Simon studied personally with Sri B.K.S. Iyengar, Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, and Sri T.V.K. Desikachar. The result is a safe, dynamic, meditative flow that thousands worldwide have benefited from. Bianca and Simon have successfully trained teachers globally for over 20 years.

About 5-Dimensional Flow System

5-Dimensional Flow explores the common origin of all natural movement, from yoga to qigong, martial arts, dance and therapeutic exercises. It centres on the idea that movement, breath, and even emotions originate in the lower abdominal region—the seat of your enteric nervous system (the “gut brain”). By reconnecting with the five main “dimensions” of core and trunk movement, adults can rediscover the natural fluidity often lost in modern life.

About the workshop

Over the week, you’ll immerse yourself in 5-Dimensional Synergy Flow — a system that unites the common roots of yoga, tai chi, qigong, dance, and natural human movement, enriched with modern physiotherapy and exercise-science principles.

Simon combines modern science with traditional yoga to create practices suited to the modern body. Drawing clear bridges between Eastern methods and Western physiology, he explores the evolution of kriyā and the art of prāṇāyāma as practical tools for everyday life — helping you tense less and feel more.

This practice teaches you how to develop strength without tension, flexibility without stretching, and much more. You will learn how to trully restore the harmony between body, breath, and mind.

Yoga Synergy & 5D Flow Implementation

DETAILED SCHEDULE

Each day is structured to move from direct experience into clear understanding.

Mornings focus on a deeply meditative practice combining fluid movement, subtle breath work, and internal techniques. These sessions are designed to calm the nervous system, improve circulation, and cultivate internal awareness through efficient, low-effort movement. This is the 5-D Flow Method in action.

Afternoons explore traditional yoga forms — including āsana, prāṇāyāma, and kriyā — through the Yoga Synergy System. Here, the yogic practices are unpacked and integrated using principles of anatomy, biomechanics, physiology, and therapeutic movement, helping you understand why the practices work and how to apply them more effectively and safely.

Throughout the day, practical theory is woven directly into movement, bridging embodied experience with functional understanding.

What other people are saying about Simon...

"Simon’s teachings bring deep connection to every aspect of life."

I’ve known Simon as a dear friend, yoga colleague, and teacher for 30 years, and he never ceases to amaze me with his kindness, depth of knowledge, and constant inspiration. I continue learning vast amounts about self-care, the body, and life itself. There truly are no words to fully capture the depth of connection Simon’s teachings bring to all areas of life and the immense heart behind everything he does.

Mardi Kendall

"Simon is one of the last true yoga masters."

Simon is truly at the top of yoga teaching. I love every movement, every bit of energy, and the deep connection he creates. He is one of the last true masters, a precious gift to all of us. I am grateful every day for having had the opportunity to learn from him.

Georgina Polyak & Lauren Fields

"Yoga taught with joy and a truly open heart."

Simon brings deep and thorough knowledge across all yoga disciplines, enriched by decades of high-level practice. His incredible generosity toward students of all abilities is unmatched. No pretension or superficiality here—just yoga taught with pure joy and an open heart. My highest respect and gratitude.

Stephane Redey

"The most authentic teacher I’ve ever encountered."

Simon has a unique gift for teaching from his heart, mind, and soul. For years I searched everywher- books, the internet, and magazines - to find someone who combines profound theoretical knowledge, intelligent practice, passion, and dedication. The moment I met Simon, I knew he was that teacher. His ability to continuously evolve and guide his students to higher, purer, and more intelligent levels of practice is extraordinary.

Oksana Isavnina

"Simon is the missing link between traditional yoga and modern science."

As a professional athlete and yoga practitioner for over 30 years, I struggled to find yoga practices that energized rather than depleted me. Meeting Simon was a turning point and I discovered the missing link between traditional yoga and modern physiotherapy. Simon’s unique approach, blending biology, physiotherapy, and yoga, profoundly changed my life. Health, relationships, even my professional performance improved dramatically. Training with Simon revealed what the sages meant by yoga as Kaivalya: true freedom in presence.

Tite Togni / Professional athlete, founder of yogaXrunners

"Simon’s teaching has an undeniable WOW factor."

I vividly remember my first Yoga Synergy class with Simon in 2006. Despite having practiced yoga for five years already with excellent teachers, Simon’s class had an undeniable WOW factor that has lasted through 13 years of a profound teacher-student relationship. His one-of-a-kind teaching style, warmth, humility, and endless creativity are incomparable. I'm forever indebted to Simon for generously sharing his wisdom. After experiencing Simon, there's simply nowhere else I'd rather go.

Monika Lenkefi / Yoga teacher and director of Izisz Yoga Studio

"The Most Inspiring Yoga Teacher I’ve Ever Met."

Simon is easily the most knowledgeable and inspiring teacher I have ever encountered. His teaching style makes complex concepts easy and enjoyable to learn. My first training with him was so impactful I immediately signed up for another. Simon completely transformed my understanding of yoga, both in teaching and in practice. After training with him, my chronic Raynaud's syndrome—something I’d suffered with for over 20 years—completely resolved. I can't recommend him highly enough.

Charlotte van Bassen

"A Profound and Transformative Yoga Journey."

My teacher training with Simon Borg-Olivier completely transformed my understanding of yoga, deepening my personal practice and my journey of self-inquiry. Simon’s passion, expertise, and unique ability to illuminate yoga’s intricacies—particularly how the spine transitions through poses—was eye-opening and profoundly inspiring. I am forever grateful.
